In 2005, only 38% of museums and galleries in the UK had an access policy or plan that mentions disabled people and 71% stated that their sites were probably not accessible to the blind or partially sighted. (3)
42% of the venues admitted that at best, blind or partially sighted visitors could access none or little of the venue, collections and events through using information in accessible formats and only 37% of museums provided audio description services or tours. (3)
More than 80% of websites surveyed failed to uphold basic accessibility requirements (1)
