DDA Act 1995 Part III
Key Points:
- Shops, businesses and organisations which deal with the public are
under a duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people.
- This means policies, practices and procedures which might discriminate
have to change; provide auxiliary aids and services; and where there
is a physical barrier to access, provide services by a reasonable alternative
means.

- Regarding the printed word, this must be easily accessible to disabled people. In order to achieve this, a wide variety of documents must be made available in the alternative formats such as large print, Braille, Audio Cassette and/or CD. TransMedia Link is the UK's leading commercial supplier of Transcription services. We can transcribe any printed item into any of the above formats.
The Code of practice - Rights of access: goods, facilities, services
and premises is available at: www.disability.gov.uk
The final stage for implementing Part 3 happened in 2004 when service
providers had to change, or provide means of avoiding, physical
features which prevent disabled people from using a service.
